One of the highlights of Steve’s Canadian odyssey was a truly special fishing trip to the Indian River…
Fishing for Pink Salmon, Steve headed into Vancouver to get some flies from the local tackle shop, when the shop owner enquired where he was hoping to catch them Steve replied “the Indian River” an answer which was greeted with a shake of the head “cant be done mate, that’s native territory only native Americans are allowed to fish that river”. Their suspicious looks soon gave way to ones of envy as Steve informed them that his guides were none other than Chief Leonard George and His son Chief Justin George and that he was the first white man to be granted permission to fish the river.
So with a sense of history in the air Eagle Dancer (Steve) and his son White Raven (George) set out with their guide Leonard to fish the Indian River. A brilliant day was had by all with many pink salmon being caught and released back to the river.
Fantastic pics Steve, and good to see there isn’t an iceberg in sight! The video of Chief Leonard George is something special, and a pleasure to watch.
