I have to agree. Love the simplicity of these tools. I prefer the original carbon steel over the stainless. Carbon steel helps me light a fire easily when striking flint or ‘firesteel’ but not as easy to clean after a bread wine and cheese picnic. 🙂

I love them as well. Beautifully designed. Elegantly simply. Sadly because of their locking blade no longer legal to carry in the UK.

I love these knives I have just used my Opinel to clean the moss from one of the roofs of house! I then take it to my shed(every man needs a shed) to sharpen it.
Roger Deakin has a lot to say about Opinel in Wild wood,I think I am right in saying they where first used to cut the balls of wild bore, and before I bore everyone,I will Tallllllllly Ho!
